About Maya Strom
Maya Strom, FNP-C, DNP
I practice integrative care through a feminist, trauma-informed lens.
That means I bring authenticity and full engagement into the exam room and invite my patients to do the same. It means I question the systems, hierarchies, and assumptions that have long defined medicine; who gets believed, who gets dismissed, whose pain is taken seriously and whose is not. It means I refuse to accept that the way things have always been done is the way they must continue. I practice healthcare, NOT diseasecare.
Healthcare, at its best and most authentic, is a radical act and I am here to practice it that way.
My approach is grounded in love, healing, and consent. I believe the patient is the expert in their own body and mind and that my role is to advise, support, and empower rather than direct. I bring both clinical knowledge and deep intuition to every encounter, trusting not only what the evidence says, but what the person in front of me is communicating in ways that don't always show up on a lab report. We discover your healthcare needs together. I trust your lived experience as data. We move at your pace, in true partnership.
Whole person care means that I am interested in all of you: your history, your nervous system, your relationships, your grief, your joy, and the places where your body is asking to be heard. Collaboration is at the heart of everything I do and I do not arrive with a predetermined plan. I arrive with presence, curiosity, and a genuine desire to think alongside you.
Together we build a path toward healing that is yours.
This work is ever-evolving. I am continually learning, continually expanding, and continually guided by the people who trust me with their care. I do not have all the answers. But I will always show up curious, present, and committed.
